Today, I have mixed-feelings. Feelings of joy, and sadness, all at the same time. Joyful because my eldest son is embarking on a wonderful opportunity to complete his PHd in Chemistry at NYU (New York University) in Abu Dhabi, United Emirate. The sadness felt, comes from the reality of him having to leave his comfort zone, the familiarity of family, friends, his country of birth, USA, to pursue this goal. However, I'm greatly comforted that there is now social networking! We have Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, Skype, Smart phones, etc. and I'm so grateful to God for this technology being in place, at this point and time. Yet, I'm doubly grateful for the dependency and skill of the old, which is, hand writing of letters or cards. Although these new, social networking tools are great, they do have their weather related moments, which handwriting doesn't have. My joy will truly overflow when this is all over, and my son's dream is finally fulfilled. I'm very thankful to God for all HE has done in my son's life. Lastly, I release Mark into God's hands, and await my son's return home, as God works through him to make a difference in his life, the lives of his family, and others.
Jer. 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me and I will listen to you.
