Another year gone by already!

Today is the last day in 2012! As I reflect on this year, I thank God for His goodness, and mercy that kept me and my family throughout the year. Lord help me to continue to serve You in Spirit and in Truth. I'm grateful.

Numbers

What is in a sequence of numbers? I'm not sure really, but today is one of those days! It is Wednesday, December 12th, 2012 (12/12/12). I also remembered some other sequences like this, from past years. I remembered a few of my friends got married on July 7th, 2007 (7/7/7), God's number of completion, and I attended the wedding. There was also June 6th, 2006 (6/6/6), known as the devil's number. I didn't pay much attention to that day. Don't really recalled, what I was doing, coming to think of it. Then, there were a series of ones(1's) in 2011. They were, New Year's Day, January 1st, 2011,(1/1/11) and Veteran's Day, Novenber 11th, 2011 (11/11/11). People who have some kind of beliefs in numbers, horoscopes, etc. were making bets, playing the lottery, getting married, and rushing to give birth on these days, with the exception of the devil's number, of course. I don't believe that on 6/6/6, people were rushing to do anything. They may have been more "spooked" than wanting to celebrate that day. Regardless, of what role these numbers play in life, I'm just grateful to God for all things, because when it comes to numbers, HE is the First and the Last. The Beginning and the End. The Alpha and Omega. Thank You God for Your Sovereignty in ALL things.

Rev. 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost."

Thanksgiving

Today is Thursday, Novomber 22nd 2012, Thanksgiving Day! I'm missing my first born today. He has never missed a Thanksgiving with us, but today, he is away and missing this day, for the first time. Lord I asked Your Divine protection over him, as we who are here, enjoy this day You have given us. Thank You for your abundant blessings in our lives. You are so worthy, and there is nothing I can do to thank You enough, for all You have done for us/me. I love You Lord, and I give You all the praise.
Psalms 92:1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, Oh Most High. NASB

Victory, Against All Odds! (Four More Years)

Despite all the negative campaigning, the scheming and trying to suppress the vote, God's grace has allowed President Barack Obama, to be re-elected, as the 44th President of the United States Of America. I'm convinced that when God has a purpose for using someone, HE always accomplishes His plans, regardless of the obstacles, facing that individual. Lord, we're thankful for this victory. We felt that some things associated with the Republicans, in this Election, were "shady" to say the least! I'm happy that when things are hidden from all of our eyes, that nothing can be hidden from You, because,You see all, and know all. You know the hearts and motives of all men. As a result, things were allowed to go in favor of the President, finally, ending the election. Now that this election season is over, we repent of  our sins. The sin of racism, and divisiveness. Help us to redirect our focus on the things of God, and forgive us Lord of all our weaknesses. Bring us together as one Nation under God, and allow Revival to come to this Land, as we trust You, to lead us by Your Spirit.

Prov. 21:31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the Lord

Merciful God

Thank You Lord for keeping us safe during the storm. I prayed for the residents of New Jersey, and New York, who were dealt a devastated blow, by Hurricane Sandy. May we continue to trust You through these difficult times, knowing that You are the Divine Protector. In addition to all of this, I prayer for "honesty and fairness" in the upcoming Presidential Election. Thank You God for your never ending love, and protection.

Psalms 145:8 The Lord is gracious, and merciful.

Presidential Visit

On Thursday, September 27th 2012, I saw for the first time, the President of the United States, President Barack Obama! It was at a grassroot event in Virginia Beach, and I was so excited. The atmosphere was Electrifying! He was very handsome, also charming and the people there, just loved him. My only regret, was that I chose to ride with someone, and as a result, ended up seating so far away. I can't believe I did that! but despite the seating, I saw him, heard him and had a wonderful time there. It was a wonderful opportunity, and hopefully, I'll get to see him again, but next time, much closer. (0:

Trusting God for my son

Today is one month my son left for NYU, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is homesick, hot, and seems overly concerned about wasting time, as the Lab is not yet up and running as he had expected. I thank YOU Lord for giving him peace of mind, and for working all things out on his behalf. YOU understand him best, and knows the plans YOU have for him. Thank You Lord for his success in advance, and for working everything out. YOU are faithful.

Nine Eleven (911)

Today is Tuesday, September 11th 2012. My youngest son's twenty-first (21st) birthday!  He is such a wonderful, funny young man, and I just wanted to honor him today, instead of the constant focus of the 911 events which have been part of his birthday, since that fateful day, eleven (11) years ago today. Although these are painful memories for the families who have lost loved ones, I've chosen to move on and to celebrate my son's special day, so that he could reflect on "normal" memories of his  birthday, instead of the constant 911 memorials.

Culture

Labor Day, 2012! Today, people are on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn NY jumping to the rhythmic sounds of the Islands. I remembered my very first Labor Day in Brooklyn. It was September 1975, and I was extremely excited. There was so much to see! Lots of music, food, costumes, and people. I remembered being tired when that day was over. Today, I'm resting in my home. Not as excited about the parade as time past, simply because each year, the event has been marred by violence of some sort. Not every one there is there to do good. Neither does everyone there understands the Caribbean/West Indian culture. Nevertheless, whenever I have the chance again, I will continue to stand on the sidelines and watch the bands and people go by. I love my heritage.

Misunderstood

Well, it's the second day of September, and I'm up early writing this blog. I have no idea what I want to say, therefore, I'll continue pressing the keys, and see what remains. Life is strange sometimes. Sometimes I wonder why I am the way I am. Like, I'm funny yet serious. To some, I may come across as stuck up and to others, very stupid. I'm really down to earth, and enjoy people that are kind, loving, and compassionate. Don't care for "shady" people. I tend to keep them at a distance, and interact only when neccessary. I love my family! They know me best. I don't like discord or confusion. My family are mostly peaceful and loving. Therefore, I often expect this( loving & peaceful ) from others, and this may not be their reality. I'm learning to accept people for who they are, and not to fit them into my mold. I am a firm believer in God, and want very much to walk in my purpose. Most of the time, I'm not sure what that is, but I believe it becomes clearer to me when someone is hurting. I automatically reach out to nuture, build up, and help them. I often feel like, I'm always giving of myself. It hurts so much when you give the best of yourself to others, and then, have them misunderstand you, ignore you, etc. That is just how we treat God! HE gives us the best of everything, and we hurt HIM over and over again. But, thank God for HIS greatest gift, LOVE! Love binds all things together, and I will continue to love, like HE continues to love us.

Prov 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.

Closer to his dream.

Today, I have mixed-feelings. Feelings of joy, and sadness, all at the same time. Joyful because my eldest son is embarking on a wonderful opportunity to complete his PHd in Chemistry at NYU (New York University) in Abu Dhabi, United Emirate. The sadness felt, comes from the reality of him having to leave his comfort zone, the familiarity of family, friends, his country of birth, USA, to pursue this goal. However, I'm greatly comforted that there is now social networking! We have Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, Skype, Smart phones, etc. and I'm so grateful to God for this technology being in place, at this point and time. Yet, I'm doubly grateful for the dependency and skill of  the old, which is, hand writing of letters or cards. Although these new, social networking tools are great, they do have their weather related moments, which handwriting doesn't have. My joy will truly overflow when this is all over, and my son's dream is finally fulfilled. I'm very thankful to God for all HE has done in my son's life. Lastly, I release Mark into God's hands, and await my son's return home, as God works through him to make a difference in his life, the lives of his family, and others.

Jer. 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me and I will listen to you.

Blessed

I declare that I'm a blessed lady simply because God say so! HE has called me Bless! Today is my birthday, and I'm so thankful for HIS grace that allowed me to see another year. I'm thankful Lord. Thank You for my husband, my sons, my family and friends that took the time out to wish me Happy Birthday. I don't take their best wishes likely. I'm truly grateful for each one. I celebrate my life today, knowing that God's plan is to prosper me. Awaiting some awesome things coming in my life.

Time with family

Thank You Lord for the time You've allowed me to spend with my parents, siblings, niece, and nephews. I don't ever want to take these relationships for granted, but will cherish the times spent together. Bless them Lord, and keep them each day. I'm so very grateful to have them in my life Lord, and I'm thankful for Your grace, and mercy that make this all possible.

Fun At Sea

On July 1st- July 8th 2012, I departed on my "fun at sea" voyage.Thank You Lord for taking me safely To and From my cruise ship vacation. I had such a wonderful time with family and friends, and I thank You so very much. It was You who made this experience possible for me. I'm very grateful, that You smiled on me, and  gave me this gift, this trip. All good things come from You, and I'm delighted to have been the recipient of this gift. ThankYou Lord for blessing me more than I could've ever ask or think. I look forward to many more vacations, and  fun times ahead.

The blessings of the Lord make us rich, and add no sorrow. Proverbs 10:22

Amazing Love

Lord, I'm grateful for so many, many things. I'm grateful for life, Salvation,Your grace and mercy, the keeping power of Your Holy Spirit, freedom to worshipYou,Your Divine protection, my church home and the pastors, my husband, my sons, my mom, dad, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, my health, shelter,Your daily provision, and for the myriads of blessings, that would take a lifetime or perhaps, an eternity, to mention. Forgive me Lord for my shortcomings. Thank You for your Love, compassion, and long-suffering towards me. I don't deserve it but You see it differently, for while I was yet a sinner, You sent Your only begotten Son, Jesus to die for me and this wretched world. Thank You Lord. I'm forever grateful for Your amazing love.

Blessed Siblings.

It's June 1st today, and WOW, how the time is flying by!! Stop and think about it.We're already half way through the year, 2012. Unbelievable, isn't it? Yes indeed, but as the old adage say, "Time waits for no man". Lord, I'm grateful for every day that I see.Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for your Love. Most importantly, thank You for this season in my life. Four weeks from today,Lord willing, I will be going on my first cruise. I'm so excited, and appreciative of my sister, for being selfless and for blessing me beyond measure, time and time again. God, I ask you in Jesus's name, to bless her and keep her through all her endeavours, for she has been very good to me. I thank You for my only sister, and  may the goodness that she gives out, return to her a hundred fold. My brother has been a great blessing to me as well, and may his life be bless, as a result of what he did for me. Lord bless their children, and grandchildren. Pour into their lives where they wouldn't be room to contain it. I'm so thankful toYou for using my Siblings to bless me. I love them very much, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in this world! Thank You God for knitting the three of us in our mother's womb. That act, has forever binded us together, and I'm so very thankful.

I will make them and the places around MY hill a blessing. And I will cause showers to come down in their season; they will be showers of blessing. Ezek 34:26

May I?

There is a saying,"April showers, bring May flowers". We are in May, the fifth month, and flowers are blooming everywhere! It seems to be the "kick off" month for many festive events, such as Graduations, Proms, and Weddings. I love them all! In some countries, the first day of May is a holiday. This holds true for Barbados, my birthplace. I can't remember if the Maypole was ever celebrated there but this event is truly a joyful one, as people danced around the pole with beautiful, colored ribbons and streamers.

Two becomes one.

Thirty-one (31) years ago today, my dad walked me down the aisle to say "I do" to my Fiance. It seems as if it was just yesterday, but it has been over three decades, plus one, wow! Marriages every where are falling apart! When it comes to marriage, we don't have the "magic touch". We have problems like everyone else. However, the grace and mercies of God, has kept our marriage through the years. Thank You Lord for Your blessings on this covenant. I'm grateful.

Divine Protection

God is definitely the Great "I AM"! I have came to know the Lord in many ways. For example, I've known Him as a healer, when He answered my prayer on behalf of my niece. As a deliverer, when He  delivered a patient from a personality disorder. I know God as a provider, as He continues to provide for my daily needs, and on Easter, April 8th 2012, I knew Him as a protector. He protected my husband and myself from a major accident. We are so thankful to God for His grace and mercy. He spared our lives as well as the lives of others, and have given us yet another testimony to declare His goodness to others. God is faithful, and although we cannot see or touch Him, He is very real. I believe in God, and I thank Him for His grace and mercy. He is AWESOME, and there is nobody like HIM!

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. psalm 46:1

Hosanna

Today is Palm Sunday and also April Fool's Day. Well, I don't know what to say about this, accept that the fool said in his heart that there is no God (Psalms 14:1). On the first Palm Sunday, Jesus came in riding as King on a donkey. The people shouted, "Hosanna", waved Palms, and threw their clothing on the ground before Him. Days later, those very people, were shouting, "crucify Him" as He was led away to die for my sins and the sins of this world. Thank You Lord, for your agape love, and for the gift of  Salvation, that You victoriously won at the Cross of Calvary. I declare that I'm no fool, there is a God, and I Believe!

March Into The New!

March is here!!! Thank You Lord for another month. We have been spared from a harsh winter, and now Spring is steadily approaching. Spring speaks of "newness", a renewal, a rebirth of sorts. May my life burst forth with "newness" and continual growth in this month and beyond. I thank You God for all things new, and for a month that, in a sense, commands us to "March" forward into all that lies ahead, beginning with Today. Thank you Lord.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

The swiftness of time.

Wow, we are already in the second month of the New Year! It appears as if time is going by faster than previous years. Lord help us all to live in the moment, in the now, because at the rate time is passing by, it certainly doesn't make sense for us to look back at our past or too far ahead at our future. In doing so, we are likely to miss the now, miss  the present which is Today. Thank You Lord for every moment in time. May we treasure time and use it wisely. Forgive me Lord for the time that I have wasted. Help me/us to be about Your business each and every day.

But beloved do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

God's gift.

Each day is a gift from God, and that day is never repeated. At the end of twenty-four (24) hours, a day ends, and a new day begins. We should allow each day to count for something, by making a difference in another person's life. Something as simple as a smile, goes a long way. We can share with or even encourage someone, that maybe less fortunate than ourselves. We shouldn't waste time trying to control the day, because neither of us know from one second to the next, what lies ahead. However, God knows. Therefore, we should choose to trust in Him, as He safely lead us through each day.

Psalm 118:24  This is the day the Lord has made,we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Happy New Year!

Hooray!!! January 1st  2012  is here, and I'm thanking God for the genesis of this day. May joy, love, peace, and prosperity continue on every level in my life and the lives of other. Lord thank You for life as I move forward this day into the newness of the year.

Rev. 21:5 Behold, I am making all things new.
